The King of Fighters 95’ Ultimate Championship Battle
This was a neat find for sure. On the surface, it seems like a promotional video or a walkthrough of Kof 95’. It’s actually a tournament of competing members of Game enthusiast groups, Cosplayers and Popular Gaming Magazine editors. Some Editor teams include Various Beep! editors, Neo Geo Freak, Famitsu, and Arcade Game Magazine. The top prize was ¥300,000 and luxury prizes for first Place and ¥150,000 and a less luxury prize for second place. Using machine translation it looks to be host by a Japanese personality call Bomber Morio but, I’ve yet to find much information surrounding who he is or other works he’s participated in.
Watch it in 4k on my YouTube Channel
This was captured on my Toshiba DVR620KU VCR/DVD combo unit using S-Video (Y/C) to a Retro Tink 4K Pro. The RT4K setting was the VHS capture with the IRE set to zero since this was a Japanese tape. This was upscaled from 480i to 4k using motion adaptive deinterlacing with the Triple Buffer scaling mode to enable the time based correction feature of the RT4K. No other effects were added in any of the further steps in order to give you as purist of an upscale as I could.
I’ve also got links below of the actual footage minus my edited parts from my YouTube video for you to download and use for your own content. They were captured in 1080p, 1440p and 4K all in the method described in the previous paragraph. All I ask is that you source credit me if you do us any of the of what I’ve provided.
