Maybe not known for being the best game but, Star Wars is a major property in the west so it’s cool to see it represented in a way you’ve may not have seen.

Watch it in 4k on my YouTube Channel

this was an In-store promo VHS sent out to promote Super Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back on the Super Famicom in Japan. You’d have likely saw this at your local Japanese game store rolling on a good old CRT. This was captured on my Toshiba DVR620KU VCR/DVD combo unit using S-Video (Y/C) to a Retro Tink 4K Pro. The RT4K setting was the VHS capture with the IRE set to zero since this was a Japanese tape. This was upscaled from 480i to 4k using motion adaptive deinterlacing with the Triple Buffer scaling mode to enable the time based correction feature of the RT4K. No other effects were added in any of the further steps in order to give you as purist of an upscale as I could.

I’ve also got links below of the actual footage minus my edited parts from my YouTube video for you to download and use for your own content. They were captured in 1080p, 1440p and 4K all in the method described in the previous paragraph. All I ask is that you source credit me if you do us any of the of what I’ve provided.
